  The Rebellion

  of the Angels

  Bruno Giannini

For my love for Hope, an angel with the skin of a woman, I, Eyes of Heaven, I confessed to the Creator...

Oh, my Lord, I have met such a woman...

You have not seen another like her

even when you have created all of them.

My eyes were the advance of my heart

  whose sowing, ripening and fruit

are the flower of this love that I feel for her.

She is my poetry, prose and sentence

  my dictionary

when the words escape from me.

She is the light of dawn that wakes me up in the mornings

the horizon that guides my way

the sap of love that gives me life

when it goes through my pores.

She is my happiness when we walk through the park

  and her footprints spread seeds

  from which gardens bloom.

She is holy water that cleans the sins of my mouth

  when hugging the sun

  we burn

If I have to describe her body

I will say that through her eyes,

the most beautiful stars of the galaxy,

I have known the intimacy of the Orion's Belt

  Her ruddy cheeks like purple

her mouth with lips like corals and rubies set

  the sweetness from the honey

  that extinguish with freshness

the red-hot burn of the fire ...

  With impulses of intelligence

She knows how to enunciate the clear diligence of the word

that helps me to continue when I fall

drunk by her skin as well as by the grape ...

  Her turgid and upright breasts

  are a temptation

even for the most calm one in dominating his senses.

She has soft and toned forearms

whose wrists would melt and transform

in silver if the rain touched them.

And to conclude, Oh, My Lord ...!

and to be faithful in my truth, my word and my faith

  I must confess that ...

as an selfless but humble angel of your Creation

  I safeguard at night

that angel with the skin of a woman because of her beauty

kissing her in the middle of her eyes with the greatest affection.

And while she rest in peace in her fortune

This is where I must confess, Oh, My Lord ...!

maybe my only sin if there was one...

  Because if there was one

  maybe my only sin was

the one that hurt the least ...

  Or maybe the most ...!

Since that pain was, Oh, My Lord ...!

  the pain of love

  Chapter I

  From Heaven to Earth

"You will not revere anyone but me ..."

...were the first words that resounded throughout the Celestial country thousands and thousands of years ago, after God created the angels and gave life to the last celestial body that would be part of a one galaxy, the Earth.

Then after a long time, when on that planet there was already light, numerous divisions of land and water, and different types of seeds and wild fruits, he populated it with animals and vegetables of the most varied species. And as he inhabited other planets with xenoids or extraterrestrials, he decided the Earth would also be occupied, in addition to the animal and vegetable kingdoms, by the human being, in its man and woman traits.

Although perhaps God never imagined that decision would produce a "scandal in the Celestial country", located in the very firmament, where God and the angels lived together, even though God was not physically seen, but his presence was perceived, thanks to that important halo that, arising from nothing, represented him in himself.

The Celestial country was an infinite kingdom, and although it could not be assured exactly, it was supposed that God and the angels inhabited the centre of the firmament. However, even in such dimension, it took them little time to move from one place to another in that space that was their home, the Heaven, mobilised by that Light.

And although it could be even more surprising, the part of Heaven inhabited by God and the angels was structured by constructions made of derivatives of that original light from which everything came; and although that light was divided in many plots, denoting that transparency that was inherent, it revealed many consistencies according to the purposes it represented in each case.

The nature of that light was of such a consistency that, although to an unprepared observer those constructions "seemed transparent," its inhabitants, the angels, could not see each other, which implied a strange kind of privacy for them.

Only God, for the aforementioned characteristic of Father and Creator of all beings and of whatever form of existence there was then in the universe, from its nature of light, he had the possibility of seeing beyond those transparent constructions, of contemplating the activity or rest of each one of his angels, for being Almighty and omniscient.

The angels did not have a very hectic celestial life, their basic obligation was to attend the meetings carried out by God, at different moments of the day called by him at morning and evening, in which there was a moment when everything got dark, up to the point of that, as participants of the power of God, the stars seemed to agree by illuminating the Earth in unison.

At other moments angels could be seen, going around in circles everywhere, hiding in the clouds as part of a game, or simply talking to each other, in a language only comprehensible to God. Although their greatest pleasure was the moment the meetings took place, to listen to their father and creator God, they did not miss the possibility of going through the firmament, as a field walked on Earth by some human, that once God created it, it could know nature.

This way, the Celestial Kingdom was appreciated for those primitive times. In its centre, it was inhabited as a country by God and his angels, bordering on the infinity of Heaven whose vastness suggested that it was still waiting to be occupied, except for the many groups of clouds that sometimes seemed large communities of trees that were part of the forests, or high mountains or mountain ranges whose slopes allowed the angels to pass through. Although they had wings, they only unfurled them on rare occasions, perhaps anticipating the human that would come later or for certain games in common with their brothers and sisters of lineage, or they used them to return with greater swiftness when they were far away from their habitat.

By their natural condition the angels were predom
inantly of short height, with delicate faces and perfect in their physiognomy and cheerful in spirit. They seemed like happy children, but because of their condition, many of them seemed older than they really were, since the angels could live countless years, in a longevity that was the understandable effect of the divine light that fed them. Ten years of any child of the human species would be equivalent, once that species existed, to a hundred years of an angel's life; therefore, fifty years of a human being would be equivalent to five hundred years of an angel...

The angels were female or male, anticipating perhaps, within the line of divine creation, what would later be, according to what that infinite and that divine light would say the human species and the human condition. Indeed, the angels were the virtual and spiritual antecedents of the species that would come by God's will. But that sexuality of the angels did not imply carnal relations, precisely because as they were the virtual ancestors of humans, they were configured as their spiritual antecedent, so they did not have the carnal consistency of the humans that would come, when the will of the Almighty considers it opportune. On the other hand, the non-carnality of the angels did not inhibit romantic situations among them, but something was clear in the Divine Law; everything related to gestation and creation in any of its forms, was limited by this law.

The angels, whatever their sex was, were very beautiful. Even being similar to each other, there were twelve of them who stood out above the rest, but not because of their better condition, but because they were considered the closest to God because of the excessive love they had for Him as their father and creator; this did not mean that the others did not love God in the same way; but these twelve angels felt a sublime adoration, difficult to describe. For this reason, they were considered by their brother angels as "the twelve disciples of God".

Among those twelve disciples were angels of both sexes. The names of the male angels were Love, Compassion, Lucifer and Eyes of Heaven. And the names of the female angels were Kindness, Offer, Hope, Experience, Youth, Light, Peace and Temperance.

Among the tasks assumed by those twelve angels by their own decision were the preparations that preceded each meeting with God, such as cleaning that room, where they also had breakfast, lunch, had tea and dinner together, united as God wanted.

And although within that group of the twelve disciple angels, as the rest of them called them, they were all very united as good brothers and friends. There were those who were more united to one angel than to the other, which led to the formation of subgroups; for example, the friendly bond between Lucifer and Eyes of Heaven, both male and adult angels, to such an extent that they spent much of the day together, and they talked about who they admired and loved so much, God, their father and creator. And also, when they did their tasks, they complemented each other in the same way.

Lucifer´s adoration for God led him almost to a state of fanaticism, which made him think of Him during every second of the day; it could almost be said that, discounting the time in which he shared those feelings with Eyes of Heaven, the rest of the time was destined to think predominantly of his father and creator, since the angel Lucifer did nothing but talk and talk about his father, what makes him the most insistent one, more than any other within that group made up by four male and eight female angels; even more than his best friend Eyes of Heaven, or than the quintet closest to them, which was made up of the angels of female physiognomy: Experience, Youth, Hope, Light and Peace.

Experience, the oldest of the quintet, was the most closed to Youth, perhaps because she was one of the youngest among all the existing angels or, maybe, because Youth considered Experience as a kind of mother, due to their age difference. Light and Peace were another of the most united duets, maybe because their ages were similar in comparison with Youth´s age. Hope, on the other hand, was rather lonely and reserved, and her age, among the older ones, was similar to Experience´s age.

In the case of the other angels that made up that group of twelve, Compassion and Love were very united as well, as were Temperance, Offer and Kindness.

After a time, one day, maybe Sunday because it was considered a break, the angels went to the great hall to have lunch. The twelve disciples had already prepared all the tables. The room was extremely large, but given the number of long tables that would be occupied by hundreds of angels, it did not appear to be its true dimensions.

The long tables extended from the entrance to the other end of the room, where extensive and wide steps led to a kind of large altar, in which centre was a table, and in its centre a golden cup of greater dimensions than usual, was shining.

As the angels entered the room, they occupied the tables without positioning themselves in random places. When all the angels sat down, including those who were the twelve disciples of God, in one of the central tables on the end near the altar, a snap was heard over the murmur of all the angels who were talking to each other in a lively way, the white candles were magically lighted,

supported by striking chandeliers that shone like gold, decorating the tables. Then the murmurs ceased, as if that snap had been a request for silence...

The angels paid special attention to their empty plates and suddenly, these were occupied by the lunch of the day so magically, as the candles of those chandeliers were lighted before.

Some angels smiled and others gloated. God had prepared one of their favourite feasts: seeds of the most varied species. The glasses of each angel were filled once again magically; some of them with some water and others with an apparent grape juice.

But nobody began to eat yet; there was still something else missing... Seconds later they were provided with napkin; some of them hung from their necks and others were placed on their thighs, always in a magical way. Then God told them:

"I have already blessed you all,

  your food and your tables.

  You can start eating now"

Then, as a chorus, in a deep but harmonious murmur, the angels expressed:

"Lord, we thank you for your blessing"

When they received the divine blessing, the diners started the generous task of eating.

Although the young angels enjoyed the appetite of their age, God moderately renewed, from their omnipotent faculties, the portions of liquid and solid foods.

When everyone had finished, God told them:

—"Good appetite, my dear angels ..."

—"Thank you, Lord" — everyone answered in unison and God continued:

—"Once the tables are cleaned, we will meet again here. I have something very important to announce...”

Then some angels left the room for a moment and others who were a minority, headed by Lucifer, Eyes of Heaven, Experience, Youth, Hope, Light, Peace, Love, Compassion, Temperance, Offer and Kindness, waited for God to make disappear the plates, glasses, chandeliers and napkins that were dispersed on the tables, and then they moved the seats and tables to both sides of the room, clearing its central area.

Little by little, the absent angels were re-entering the room, and as a habit, every time they went to a meeting, they formed a queue which began on the first steps next to the altar and that was lost near the exit wide doors. The twelve angels headed each one of the central queues, aligned in front of the altar; on its table was the Holy Grail, a striking and precious golden cup.

—What will the Lord announce to us that is so important? —Lucifer asked.

—I have no idea —Eyes of Heaven answered.

—Will he perhaps teach us a new prayer? —Lucifer insisted, and Eyes of Heaven smiled with the quintet of female angels, as if they were approving that possible idea.

—Maybe he will talk about that cup that has been on the table in the altar for a few days, won´t he? –Experience imagined and asked, without getting answers. The group looked at the golden cup trying to imagine what such a divine object could mean.

After such curiosity, the Voice of the Almighty Lord of the Universe was heard once again:

  —My d
ear angels... —and the murmurs, that were still heard, disappeared—. ... as I told you today ... I have something very important to announce. But first I will answer what many of you are asking: What is the meaning of that golden cup that is in front of all of us? —An intense murmur crossed the multitudinous field like a wave of the sea, until a complete silence, as if those waves disappeared on the beach ... —. Well, we call this cup Holy Grail ...

Then Lucifer interrupted him. He was anxious to know what such a sacred object represented.

—And what does it mean and why the name of that cup, my Lord?

—The Holy Grail represents the spiritual path that links the pairs of opposites of good and evil, of desire and fear, and also every other pair that risks the passion or spiritual force. This allows the transformation in which you can desire, reach and consummate by the validity of your own desire and will, and the same for men, when they come to the world by my divine will. The Holy Grail contains the realization of the highest potentialities of the human spirit ... —God particularly emphasized—. "The human" is the condition of those who will come and inhabit the last planet that I have created for now, the Earth.

—My Lord, I do not understand what is good and evil, or what or who men are. I also do not understand what the word "human" means, much less why do you insist on inhabiting that new planet, Earth as you call it, when you already have all the infinity for You? —Lucifer insisted confused.

—Lucifer —God replied—. And all my dear angels... —He generalised later... —. The word "human", or its derivative "humans", denote the race that will occupy the Earth, for which I will create man and woman, whose bodies will be identical to yours, and the only representatives of the human race. Regarding why I want to inhabit the Earth, it is because it is useless to have the infinite for me, Lucifer, if the infinite is not given life; it would not be filled with lights ... Lights that on the Earth will be represented by man and the woman. They will be the consciousness of the Earth, their eyes and their voice, and the life of that celestial body will depend on them as long as humans pray doing good, protecting their planet and their fellows —There were gestures of increasing approval on their faces, to the extent that their doubts began to dissipate...—. Then, continuing with my explanation about the Grail, it will be human nature that seeks the Grail out. And in it, the search for the wisdom that stimulates it so much.
